The cause of a window problem isn’t always the seal. The first thing we do is inspect the entire window. If a seal change won’t help, we say it before the work, not after.
Whether the seal is hard, sagged, cracked or slipped out of its proper position.
Whether the window closes evenly against the frame in all corners.
Whether the handle and lock pull the window fully shut or need adjustment.
Whether the problem may be in the glass, frame or installation joint (not the seal).
Whether condensation and cold come actually from lack of ventilation.
Whether cold comes from between the window or from the wall-window junction.

We use only Schlegel Q-Lon polyurethane seals. It is the German industry standard installed on European premium windows for over 50 years. Unlike ordinary EPDM rubber, Q-Lon does not change shape in the cold, does not harden, does not crumble. The seal we install today will work the same way 10 years from now.

Often yes, especially if the window is over 10 years old and the seal hasn’t been changed before. But not always. We first check whether the cause is in the seal, closing or elsewhere. If a seal won’t help, we say so before the work, not after.

Q-Lon is Schlegel’s polyurethane seal, designed for the Northern European climate. Unlike standard rubber, it doesn’t harden in cold and works the same years later.
Sometimes yes, sometimes no. Condensation forms when warm room air touches a cold surface. Poor sealing can worsen the problem, then a seal change helps. If the main cause is humidity, ventilation must be improved first.
